ABOUT THE COLLEGE
Women’s Christian College (WCC), founded in 1915 and affiliated with the University of Madras is a leading autonomous institution in Nungambakkam, Chennai. With the motto “Lighted to Lighten,” WCC has empowered women for over a century, offering 22 undergraduate, 14 postgraduate, and 6 research programs, along with UGC-funded career courses. Accredited with an “A+” by NAAC in its fourth cycle and recognized as a “College with Potential for Excellence” by the UGC, WCC also offers a transfer program with LeTourneau University (USA). It partners with Liverpool Hope University (UK), Association of Christian Universities and Colleges in Asia (ACUCA), University of Cyberjaya (Malaysia) and Binary University (Malaysia) for global learning opportunities
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENTS
Launched in 2022, M.Sc. in Data Science at WCC provides comprehensive training in data collection, analysis, and decision-making, thereby preparing students for careers such as data scientists, analysts, and machine learning engineers. While the undergraduate program B.Sc. Computer Science with Data Science equips students with industry-relevant skills for roles like Data Analysts and Data Scientists. Both programs pivot on academic excellence and holistic development, ensuring graduates are well-prepared to meet the evolving demands of the industry and the realms of Data Science.
The Department of Business Administration (BBA), established in 1998, aims to develop management leaders through a comprehensive academic framework, industry engagement, entrepreneurial training, and value-based education. The curriculum integrates theoretical business concepts with specializations in Marketing, Finance, or Human Resource Management, while emphasizing real-world experience through internships and projects in leading organizations, both in India and abroad.
The Office of International Programs and Student Services at Women’s Christian College (WCC) facilitates global exposure through partnerships with top international universities. It offers exchange programs, study abroad opportunities, and academic mobility initiatives, enabling students to gain global perspectives and enhance their career prospects. The office provides assistance with program selection, scholarships, pre-departure orientation, and support during international studies, ensuring a smooth transition. These initiatives prepare students to thrive in a globally interconnected world by fostering cross-cultural understanding and professional development.
