About the tree |
The tree is used for ornamental purposes. It is also planted for soil improvement, erosion control, and land rehabilitation. Medicinal uses of this tree include treatment of malaria, HIV, dysentery, gastrointestinal disorders, diabetes, wounds, urethral infections and also used as a poison antidote. In Ethiopia, the wood is used for carving, as firewood and to produce charcoal.
