Sexual Harassment of women at workplace (Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal) Act 2013.

In accordance with the UGC (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2015, the College has an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) comprising of External and Internal Members. In case of any incident of harassment, your complaints may kindly be brought to the notice of the Presiding Officer of the Committee ([email protected]) in writing or through phone (Contact Number – +91 9444076378). The Committee will address the issue in compliance with the law of the land in force.

Three Students, if the matter involves students

Highlights of  Grievances related to harassment listed by the G.O

  1. Intimidation , open and indirect threats, verbal and non verbal conduct , physical abuse and  other objectionable behaviours and objectionable materials sent through letter, electronic and social media.
  2. Undue delay or refusal for forwarding applications/ requests/ letters of the faculty , staff and students to higher authorities.
  3. Detrimental and prejudicial treatment , favouritism shown to particular students.
  4. Demand or assigning work by institution/ department after working hours , on holidays without adequate reasons. (Full list available if needed )

Procedure

  • The complainant to give a written complaint to the Presiding officer .
  • Presiding officer convenes a meeting with  the committee within 7 working days of receiving the complaints.
  • The committee meets with the complainant and alleged person/persons separately in a closed session.
  • Statements of both parties will be recorded and if allegation of sexual harassment are justified on the basis of the given guidelines and the consensus of the ICC suitable action will be initiated within 15 working days. 
  • Punitive action will be taken based on the guidelines of the UGC.
  • In case of frivolous or false allegation action will be taken against the complainant.
  • Confidentiality of all meetings , statements, Recordings will be strictly maintained.
