The Information Resource Centre, the erstwhile library was initially located in the upper floor of Doveton House with the collection of donated books by friends of the college. Mrs. James Sidney Allen, President of the American Association Board, laid the foundation stone of the new library building on 28th January, 1966 and a time capsule,the second of its kind in WCC with the signatures of staff and students, buried in the foundation. The American Associate Board and the UGC helped with funds for this project, and the alumnae of Mount Holyoke College generously equipped the library with books, periodicals and journals.
Currently, the 91345 sq.mt library building of 420 seating capacity houses 92000 plus print documents and wide range of e-resources. The library works from 7.30am to 6.00pm on all working days and is open for all students and staff of the college. Apart from the required standard infrastructure, the library is Wi-Fi enabled, and has a fully automated Library Management System with bar-code/RFID facility.
The beautiful Air-conditioned room is equipped with modern infrastructure, elegant furniture and books for relaxed reading.

The archival collections include the 17th century Samuel Johnson’s Dictionary, digital/print version of the first copy of Sunflower (the college magazine), handwritten documents, artefacts, photographs, books by WCC authors, Archives visitor’s book, etc.
An Extension Counter of the Indian Overseas Bank, College Road branch and an ATM, caters to the needs of the students on campus on all working days between 10.30 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. Resident students are encouraged to open an account with the bank.
The centre which is situated in the college premises offers the following services
The Canteen functions from 07.30 a.m. to 06.00 p.m. Healthy food options are available in the canteen. No credit account is permitted at the eateries. Cutlery should not be taken out of the Canteen.
Located near the Auditorium, the Kiosk provides hot and cold beverages and snacks.
A Centenary gift by the Alumnae Association, this facility provides clean and safe drinking water to the College community.
This store sells books and other gift articles.
Locker facilities are available for non-resident students.
