MORPHOLOGY | Tap root. Thick stems are often straight and branched. Leaves are arranged spirally, simple, without stipules, and their shape varies from ovate to rhombic-ovate. Small fine hairs cover leaf and stem surfaces. Numerous unisexual flowers are green and form finger-like spikes with long and dense terminal panicle and axillary spikes below. The terminal spike is often lax. |
