HABIT	Annual herbaceous plant
MORPHOLOGY	Tap root. Thick stems are often straight and branched. Leaves are arranged spirally, simple, without stipules, and their shape varies from ovate to rhombic-ovate. Small fine hairs cover leaf and stem surfaces. Numerous unisexual flowers are green and form finger-like spikes with long and dense terminal panicle and axillary spikes below. The terminal spike is often lax.
MEDICINAL PROPERTIES	ul {margin: 0;} The leaves are used to treat fever. The poultice prepared from leaves is used to treat inflammation, boils and abscess. It is also used as a remedy for lung disorders. It contains iron which helps in boosting up hemoglobin level. They are a good source of potassium which regulate heart rate.
