About the tree The roots are astringent. The roots and stem bark are effective in treating diabetes. An infusion of the inner bark is used for treating sores and for treating chronic coughs and asthma. The wood can be produced into very good charcoal with high calorific value and makes a good quality fuel. A timber of superior quality, it is commonly used for various construction purposes (pillars, beams).
