Due to its superior tone-wood quality, the wood is used in making musical instruments. The extracts of the bark are used as an astringent for wounds. It is used in curing malaria, anaemia, diarrhoea, fever and dysentery. Its wood is used in making furniture, fixtures, inlay, boat, caskets and many more. The stem bark is rich in iron and vitamins.
