Department of Languages

The Department of Languages came into existence with the commencement of the Self- Financed stream of the college in the year 1998 and diverged from the Tamil Department on 1^st October, 2014. Hindi and French are the two languages offered by the Department under Part I to all I year UG degree programmes and II B.A. & B.Sc degree programmes (Corporate Economics, Visual Communication & Psychology) students. It is also offered as Non-Major Electives to UG Degree programmes, and Skill Based courses to PG Degree programmes.

Language is an important means of communication and expression of thoughts and the language skill plays a vital role in pursuing a successful career. Hence the Department aims to train its students to improve their language skills for communication, creative writing and critical reasoning and analysis. Thus, as its outcome at large, students are enabled to pursue a successful career in their profession at national and international levels as they learn Hindi  and French  languages under the Department of Languages.

The Department organises various co-curricular and extracurricular activities like conferences, seminars, guest lectures, departmental cultural activities, and intercollegiate events. Students are encouraged to participate in these activities structured by the Department . It facilitates opportunities to improve  students’ personality, leadership & literary skills and broaden their horizons.
