About us
The Bachelor degree in Information Technology is a three year undergraduate course that was introduced in the year 2016 with the objective of producing IT professionals of global standards, and to utilise and fulfill the requirements created by the booming IT industry. A B.Sc. Degree in Information Technology imparts students a wide range of IT courses to provide students the breadth and depth necessary for pursuing careers and higher education. This course provides the student a sound foundation in recent trends in computers.

ACTIVITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT
Highlights
The Inter Collegiate Techno-Meet CompSync ’21 was conducted online by the students of the Computer Science Departments from Shift I and Shift II. The main objective of this event is to provide a platform for the students to showcase their talents and exhibit their knowledge in the field of computer science thus improving the general knowledge of each participant.
Date – 13th February, 2021
Participation – Students from 15 colleges actively participated.
ASSOCIATION
Renaissance is the association of the Department of Information Technology and Department of Computer Science and Technology. The association aims to provide a platform for the students to hone their skills, which would open pathways to a new technical terrain through a resurgence of learning, and widening of horizons thus resulting in the holistic development of students driven to excellence. Student’s participation in various association activities enhances learning through exchange of ideas among students.
SERVICE-LEARNING PROJECT
Renaissance, the association of the Department of Information Technology has successfully undertaken Service-Learning Projects every year. This course requires the student to render their services to the underprivileged of society, by imparting the knowledge of basic computer skills, MS word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, Paint, Communication Skills and Personality Development. The Service-Learning programme can be undertaken in schools, orphanages, homes etc. Students can participate in this program individually or as group. They complete the planned syllabus within the duration of 15 hours. The SLP project makes them earn an extra credit.
